What we do

Common drywall repair jobs we take

Hole patches

Doorknob holes, TV-mount damage, drywall punched in by a moved appliance. Most patches done in a single visit.

Ceiling repairs

Water-damaged ceiling drywall, settled cracks at corners, popcorn-removal touch-up. Vaulted ceilings handled.

Water damage

Cut out water-damaged board, install new, tape, mud, texture, paint. We identify the leak first.

Texture matching

Orange peel, knockdown, smooth. We test on scrap before applying so repairs vanish into the wall.

Re-paint after repair

Almost every drywall job we do includes paint touch-up. If you'd rather we paint the whole wall, we'll quote that too.

Builder follow-up

Holes the plumber or electrician left for access. Bring us in once the rough-in is signed off.

What to expect

How the job actually runs.

  1. Pre-visit

    10 min

We confirm the scope by phone — number of patches, ceiling vs wall, paint match needed — and load the right materials onto the truck.

  2. On-site walk

    15 min

Quick look at the patch areas, confirm the firm quote, lay drop cloths, set up dust containment.

  3. Patch + tape + mud

    45–90 min

Cut clean edges, install backing where needed, tape and apply first coat of joint compound.

  4. Sand + finish coat

    30–60 min

Sand the first coat flat, apply finish coats, feather edges so the patch disappears into the surrounding wall.

  5. Texture + paint

    20–40 min

Match orange peel, knockdown, or smooth texture. Touch up paint with color we matched from your wall.

  6. Walkthrough

    10 min

Vacuum, wipe surfaces, walk you through the finished patch and confirm you're happy before we leave.

Why texture matching matters

The hardest part of drywall repair isn’t the patching — it’s matching the existing texture so the repair vanishes. Most homes in Ponte Vedra Beach and Nocatee have orange peel or light knockdown texture; some older St. Augustine homes have smooth plaster. We keep practice samples of each and test before applying to your wall.

Common drywall problems in homes built 2000–2010

If your home was built in this era — which describes most of Nocatee, large parts of Ponte Vedra, and the Sawgrass corridor — these problems are routine:

  • Truss uplift cracks at the wall/ceiling joint in vaulted rooms — seasonal, common, easy fix.
  • Nail and screw pops where fasteners have pushed through the surface.
  • Settling cracks at door and window corners.
  • Water stains from prior roof leaks or condensate-line drips at the AC handler.
  • Texture mismatches where a previous repair didn’t blend.
  • Impact damage at doorknob height — the most common single job we take.

What’s not included

We don’t do mold remediation behind drywall — that’s a licensed remediation specialty. If we cut out water-damaged board and find live mold, we’ll tell you immediately and recommend a remediation contractor before we close the wall back up.

What's in a quote

Honest line items. No mystery fees.

Here's exactly how we put a quote together for a typical small repair. Tap any row to see what each line covers.

  • Labor $180 3 hrs × $60/hr

We charge a per-job rate when we can. When the scope is open-ended, we charge $60/hour per technician. We always tell you which it is before we start so you can decide.

  • Materials $42 drywall, primer, fasteners

We pass through our cost on materials at no markup. Receipts on request. Anything we already have on the truck — patch kits, common fasteners — is included in labor at no extra charge.

  • Dump / disposal $25 haul-away of debris

If the job creates more than a kitchen trash bag of waste, we add a small disposal fee. Smaller jobs are included in labor. For very large jobs (full room demos), a dumpster rental gets quoted separately.

  • Workmanship coverage $10 12-month workmanship coverage

A small per-job amount that funds our 12-month workmanship coverage. If a covered workmanship issue comes up within 12 months of completion, we'll come back and make it right at no extra labor charge — see our Terms of Service for what's covered and what isn't.

  • Cleanup included drop cloths, vacuum, wipe

Drop cloths, dust containment, vacuum, wipe — always included in labor, never a separate line. We leave the room cleaner than we found it.

  • Trip / service fee $0 no call-out or trip fee

We do not charge a call-out fee or trip fee. The drive is on us. For very far jobs outside our standard service area (Hastings, parts of southwest St. Johns County) we may quote a small travel addition — we tell you about it upfront, never in the invoice.

Frequently asked

Drywall repair — questions we get a lot

How much does drywall repair cost?

Most small patches — a doorknob hole, a TV-mount fix — run $150–$300. Larger jobs with re-texturing and color-matched paint run $300–$600. We quote firm before starting.

Can you match my existing paint?

We can color-match almost any existing wall paint using a sample we scrape from a hidden corner. Texture matching (orange peel, knockdown, smooth) is usually invisible once dry.

How long does drywall repair take?

Most patches are done in a single visit — usually 1–3 hours including paint. Larger water-damage repairs may need a second visit so the patch can cure before painting.

Will you also paint the patch?

Yes. Almost every drywall job we do includes paint touch-up to blend the repair. If you want the whole wall repainted instead of touched up, that's an option too.

Do you repair water-damaged ceilings?

Yes — but we identify and stop the source of the water first (or refer to a plumber if it's not something we cover). Patching a ceiling under an active leak is throwing money at the wrong problem.

Can you fix the hole my contractor left for the plumber?

Constantly. We do a lot of "rough-in" follow-up — sealing up holes other trades cut for access. Bring us in when the plumbing or electrical is signed off.

Will there be a lot of dust?

Sanding makes dust. We use plastic sheeting, drop cloths, and a HEPA vacuum to keep it contained, and we clean the work area before we leave.

How soon can I paint the patch?

Small patches are paintable in 24 hours. Larger repairs with multiple coats of joint compound need 48–72 hours to cure fully.
