What to expect

How the job actually runs.

  1. Triage call

    5 min

On the phone we ask where the water is coming from and whether you can see it. Visible plumbing in cabinets and behind toilets is our work. Behind-wall or under-slab work we refer to a licensed plumber.

  2. Diagnose

    10–20 min

On arrival, isolate the source. Test shut-offs, inspect connections, check for hidden moisture with a meter if needed. Confirm the firm quote before any work begins.

  3. Repair

    30–90 min

Replace the failed component — faucet, fill valve, flapper, P-trap, supply line, hose-bib, garbage disposal — with parts from the truck or a quick parts run.

  4. Pressure test

    10 min

Turn water back on, run the fixture, check for drips at every connection, watch for 5 minutes. Confirm the fix holds under real-use pressure.

  5. Cleanup + walkthrough

    10 min

Wipe surfaces, vacuum any debris, show you the repair, explain anything to watch for. Receipt and warranty card in hand before we leave.

    Done

Most jobs in this category are completed in a single visit. We clean up before we leave.

How we triage a plumbing call

When you call about a leak, the first question is “where is the water coming from, and can you see it?” Visible plumbing in cabinets and behind toilets — that’s our work. Pipe behind drywall, behind tile, or under the slab — that’s licensed-plumber work, and we’ll tell you that straight rather than tear walls open to find out.

What we keep on the truck

Common shut-off valves, P-traps, supply lines, flapper kits, fill valves, faucet cartridges for the most common Moen and Delta lines, and a basic garbage-disposal swap unit. That’s enough to finish most jobs in a single visit. Anything specific — a particular faucet model, a particular fitting size — we pick up before the appointment so the trip is one-and-done.

What's in a quote

Honest line items. No mystery fees.

Here's exactly how we put a quote together for a typical small repair. Tap any row to see what each line covers.

  • Labor $180 3 hrs × $60/hr

We charge a per-job rate when we can. When the scope is open-ended, we charge $60/hour per technician. We always tell you which it is before we start so you can decide.

  • Materials $42 drywall, primer, fasteners

We pass through our cost on materials at no markup. Receipts on request. Anything we already have on the truck — patch kits, common fasteners — is included in labor at no extra charge.

  • Dump / disposal $25 haul-away of debris

If the job creates more than a kitchen trash bag of waste, we add a small disposal fee. Smaller jobs are included in labor. For very large jobs (full room demos), a dumpster rental gets quoted separately.

  • Workmanship coverage $10 12-month workmanship coverage

A small per-job amount that funds our 12-month workmanship coverage. If a covered workmanship issue comes up within 12 months of completion, we'll come back and make it right at no extra labor charge — see our Terms of Service for what's covered and what isn't.

  • Cleanup included drop cloths, vacuum, wipe

Drop cloths, dust containment, vacuum, wipe — always included in labor, never a separate line. We leave the room cleaner than we found it.

  • Trip / service fee $0 no call-out or trip fee

We do not charge a call-out fee or trip fee. The drive is on us. For very far jobs outside our standard service area (Hastings, parts of southwest St. Johns County) we may quote a small travel addition — we tell you about it upfront, never in the invoice.

Frequently asked

Plumbing repairs — questions we get a lot

What plumbing jobs do you take vs refer out?

We handle visible and accessible repairs: leaky valves, running toilets, faucet swaps, garbage disposals, shut-off replacement, hose-bib repair. We refer out anything behind the wall, slab leaks, water-heater installs, and main-line work.

How much for a typical plumbing fix?

Most repairs run $125–$400 including parts. Faucet swaps with you supplying the fixture are usually $175–$275.

Can you fix a running toilet?

Yes — usually a flapper, fill valve, or flush handle. Most toilet repairs take under an hour and run $125–$200 including parts.

My water heater is leaking — can you fix it?

We can diagnose and stop the leak and tell you whether it's the heater itself (replace) or the connections and valves (repair). Replacement we refer to a licensed plumber.

Do you do emergency plumbing?

For a leak we can stop with a shut-off and a temporary patch, yes — same day. Anything bigger we'll get you a licensed plumber on the line.

Will my insurance cover the plumbing damage?

Sudden burst-pipe damage is usually covered; slow leaks usually aren't. We document everything with photos so you have what you need for a claim.
