Handyman in Sawgrass and Sawgrass Country Club

Locally-owned handyman service · Licensed, bonded, insured · 5-minute drive from HQ

St Johns Handyman serves Sawgrass — both the Sawgrass Players Club and Sawgrass Country Club — the storied gated communities within Ponte Vedra Beach built around TPC Sawgrass and the Players Championship venue. Sawgrass homes range from 1980s originals on the golf-course corridor to newer 2000s expansion sections, with strict HOA architectural review on every exterior change. We are licensed, bonded, insured and we do not charge a call-out fee. Typical drive time from our HQ is about 5 minutes. Call (904) 871-5791.

Common around here

Jobs we see often in Sawgrass

Sawgrass homes skew older than the broader Ponte Vedra Beach corridor and they're held to a higher finish standard. Most Sawgrass work falls into two categories: interior refresh on 25-40 year old homes (whole-house repaints, kitchen cabinet refinishing, door rehangs, fixture swaps), and exterior maintenance on golf-course-adjacent properties (gutter clearing under heavy oak canopy, deck and dock refinishing on lagoon homes, exterior wood replacement, pressure washing of cart paths and pool decks). Both Players Club and Country Club have strict HOA architectural review on exterior color choices, fence materials, and roof replacements.

What makes Sawgrass work different

Most of our service area’s gated communities are ‘gated’ in the soft sense — gatehouse, guarded entry, HOA. Sawgrass is gated in the harder sense: two separate guarded gates (Players Club and Country Club), strict architectural review, and high standards for any exterior change. Working in Sawgrass means knowing the documentation, knowing the timeline, and showing up looking like a professional.

We’ve worked in both Sawgrass Players Club and Sawgrass Country Club regularly for years, which means we already have the standard HOA packet on file and we know which interior contractors the gatehouse will wave through without delay.

Where in Sawgrass we work most

  • Sawgrass Players Club main loop — golf-course-adjacent homes, original 1980s build, biggest interior-refresh job volume.
  • TPC Boulevard corridor — newer 1990s-2000s expansion. Less catch-up needed.
  • Sawgrass Country Club inland sections — older homes, more original-finish refresh work.
  • The lagoon-front streets — dock, deck, and seawall maintenance.

What we don’t take in Sawgrass

Major remodels and structural additions (general-contractor scope). Pool resurfacing and equipment work (specialty). Full dock-pier rebuilds below the waterline. New-construction work that requires permits — Sawgrass architectural review for new builds is its own process and we don’t pull permits.

Frequently asked

Sawgrass — questions we get a lot

Sawgrass Players Club vs Sawgrass Country Club — which one am I in?

They're separate but adjacent gated communities, both in 32082. Players Club wraps around the TPC Sawgrass courses (Stadium and Valley); Country Club is the older inland section with a separate clubhouse. Each has its own HOA architectural review board. We work both regularly and know which documentation each one requires.

How fast can you get to Sawgrass?

About 5 minutes from our HQ. Same-day service is the norm during business hours.

Do you charge a travel fee for Sawgrass?

Never. Sawgrass is essentially next door to us.

Are you familiar with Sawgrass HOA architectural review?

Yes. Both Players Club and Country Club require approval for exterior paint colors, fence materials, roof replacements, and major landscaping. We carry the standard documentation packets and help you file. Interior work generally doesn't need approval.

What about tournament week (Players Championship)?

We don't schedule major exterior work in the week before or during Players Championship — too much traffic, too many spectators, courses too active. Interior work continues normally. Plan exterior jobs for the months on either side of the tournament.

Can you work on golf-course or lagoon-front homes?

Yes. Golf-course homes have specific patterns — heavy oak debris in gutters, irrigation overspray on exterior wood, occasional errant-ball window damage. Lagoon-front homes have dock and seawall-edge wear. We handle both routinely.
